Come Out of Hiding
One of my favorite worship songs is titled “Come Out of Hiding” by Steffany Gretzinger and Amanda Cook. It brings me to tears every time I hear it because the message behind the song is so powerful.
“Come out of hiding. You’re safe here with me.
There’s no need to cover what I already see.”
The songs starts with the two simple yet powerful sentences above. It shows the heart of our Heavenly Father. He doesn’t want us to hide from him. We can find safety in His arms. He calls out to us daily to come and rest in His embrace.
Quite often, we try to hide things from God. But, He already knows our deepest, darkest secrets. We cannot hide anything from Him. He knows anything from the number of hairs on your head to the deepest desires of our hearts. This song just exemplifies that idea because it tells us to not cover ourselves and disguise our sins because God has already seen them. Yet, He sees us beautiful and His mercy and grace forgives us every day.
“Cause I loved you before you knew what was love.
And, I saw it all but still I chose the cross.”
This song is so packed with the Father’s love. His unfailing and immeasurable love. What’s crazy to me is that, like we were talking about earlier, he see all of ours imperfections and sins, BUT he STILL chose the cross. If that isn’t the perfect love story, I honestly do not know what is?
The song goes on to talk about how we “aren’t far from home” and “what hindered love will only become part of the story”. This goes to show how close God is to us daily and how much he has in store for each of us. The God you hear people sing, teach and/or preach about is inside of both you and me. We have access to Him daily.
He has a plan for every person. A call and destiny upon your life. Whatever tough battle you’re fighting right now, please know that whatever that thing is WILL NOT keep you from God’s greatness on your life. You will overcome it. It will become a part of your story and it won’t hinder you anymore.
So, I want to encourage you to come out of hiding. Become intimate with your Heavenly Father. Express your darkest secrets. He won’t judge you or leave you because He already knows.
P.S. Go give this powerful song a listen
