Fear is a Liar
We all know Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Next to John 3:16, I would say it is one of the most quoted passages in the Bible. Many times though, as we stare in the face of impossibility, that old familiar voice creeps up in the back of our mind telling us that we’re going to fail and that we’ll never overcome what we’re facing. The lie tells us that God has abandoned us and that we’re the only person facing challenges.
Did you know that we have anywhere to 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day and some studies show that up to 80% of our self-thoughts are negative? Sometimes life’s biggest battlefield is in the mind. We build strongholds around lies that we believe but Romans 12:2 tells us, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
It is vital to renew our minds daily to have the mind of Christ and to fill our hearts with the word of God consuming as much as possible! When we look at the example Jesus gives us in scripture, every time the enemy came, He would reply, “it is written.” So, when fear rears its head and whispers a lie we should also reply, “it is written.”
Courage is being scared to death but saddling up any way. – John Wayne
What lie are you believing that is currently holding you back? Is it your fear of destiny?
Dream big – believe God for the impossible. Not even death can stop the promises of God. Remember Philippians 4:13 – “I can do ALL THINGS through Christ who strengthens me.”
